Today I want to show you the free Monster Birthday Invitation that I have in my printables library. It's perfect for a Monster Bash party theme. The amazing thing about this particular template is that you can actually edit it with your own details. There are not many free printable invitations out there that will allow you to do that! In fact, all of the invitation templates in the library are editable.
If you like free printables (who doesn't?!) you may also be interested in my Happy Birthday colouring page as an activity for your upcoming party. And if you're planning your party for younger children, you can also find some great ideas for games and activities to play at the party.
I will go into some more detail on this template below. However, if you just want to grab the download now, scroll to the base of this post where you'll find a big green button with the download link.

The Monster Bash invite is designed with three super cute little monsters in blue, green and orange. These little guys feature on the base of the invitation whilst a simple pattern of triangles covers the rest of the design. Shades of blue, red and yellow tie into the monster characters and the all-important text. Whilst I made this with boys in mind, the colour palette could easily be used for a girl's Monster Bash party also!
The size of the monster Birthday invitation is 5×7″ on an 8.5×11″ page. You can also print to A4 paper though! Regardless of whether you're printing to A4 or 8.5×11″ you should use the “Actual Size” printer setting or scale at 100%. This will ensure the invite prints out at the intended size.
The template is a fillable PDF. Once you download it, you will need to save it to your computer. Be sure you don't try to edit within your internet browser as you may run into issues. It's also important to note that you cannot edit this file on a mobile device, it will need to be done on a computer.
The text that is editable includes the name as well as all of the personal and party details – the time, date, location, address and RSVP information. You can place any text you would like in these fields, you don't need to stick to the format that I've used in the example. The words “Help us Celebrate” and “Monster Bash!” are not editable.
I find paper selection can be a personal choice. Typically cardstock is best for invitations. Personally, I would use something similar to this 8.5×11 80lb cardstock or this A4 220gsm cardstock.
