Add a creative corner at your next kid's party with my free printable Happy Birthday colouring page. It's not just for colouring either, I've snuck in a couple of fun puzzles too!
I will run through how to get the most out of your free printable below. However, if you just want to grab the download now, scroll to the base of this post where you'll find a big green button with the download link.
Colouring itself is such a fun activity but it's also great for children's development. Studies have shown that colouring improves hand-eye coordination, enhances creativity, and reduces stress and anxiety. It also helps kids to develop fine motor skills and learn about colour and spatial awareness.
That sounds like winning in my book – something they enjoy that's also educational. If you're looking for more educational party games, last week I wrote an article with 46 party games and activities for toddlers that you might enjoy.

It's so much fun making free printables for my readers and their kids. I really enjoyed this one. This Birthday activity mat is great for toddlers and older children too. Here are some ways in which you could incorporate the Happy Birthday colouring page:
The printable colouring and activity mat features a cute Kawaii-style cartoon design; Birthday characters in their party hats and other party elements such as cakes, gifts, music notes, banners and more. Included are two puzzles – a maze (can you help the party bear get to his cupcake?) and also three games of tic tac toe. Of course, let's not forget all of the colouring and the Happy Birthday message.
The size of the colouring and activity page is 8.5×11″. You can also print it on A4 paper, just be sure to have your printer settings at “Fit to Page” so that none of the design is cut off when printing.
For most people, printing on everyday copy paper will probably be the most practical paper to use. This will do just fine. However, if you do have something a little heavier it is always nice and easier to colour on. You could start with something like this premium 8.5×11″ 32lb paper or A4 paper at around 120gsm.
It's also a good idea to consider using thicker paper if texta markers are being used and you don't want them showing through beneath the page. Also, toddlers in particular are terrible at “over-colouring” and putting holes in thin pages! Just keep in mind that the thicker you go, the more work the printer needs to do! By that, I simply mean to make sure that your printer is capable of running through heavier paper/card.
Yup! You've reached the end where you'll find the green download button. If you don't have the password as yet, signup is simple with an email address.
