How to Make a Reindeer Handprint Craft
Follow these easy steps to create your own adorable reindeer handprint craft. Perfect for preschoolers, toddlers, or really anyone who still believes in the magic of Rudolph.
Step 1: Make Your Handprint
You can download the free printable template at the end of this post or trace your child’s own hand.
For this step, use dark brown paper and carefully cut it out. This will be your reindeer’s head.
If your little one loves a messy project, you can also paint their hand brown and stamp it on paper.

Step 2: Add the Antlers
Trace two smaller handprints on lighter brown paper.
Cut them out and glue one on each side of your larger brown handprint. These are your reindeer’s antlers!
With the black marker, draw a cute little smile.

Step 3: Give It Some Eyes
Cut two oval shapes from white paper and add black dots in the center with a marker. Glue them onto your reindeer to bring it to life.

Step 4: Add the Nose
No reindeer is complete without a bright red nose! Glue on your red pom pom ball right in the center. (Rudolph would be proud!)

Step 5: Add Little Details
Use your marker to shade the bottom of the fingers for hooves.
Then doodle Christmas light strings across the lighter brown handprints.

Step 6: Decorate the Antlers
Cut small circles from colored construction paper and glue them on as the bulbs. Cute, right?
And that’s it. Your little reindeer is ready to prance right onto the fridge or Christmas card!

Fun Ways to Use Your Reindeer Handprint Craft
Once your adorable reindeer is complete, here are a few ways to use it beyond just the fridge display (though that’s a classic spot too!).
Turn It Into a Christmas Card
Glue your reindeer handprint onto folded cardstock and add a holiday message. Grandparents and teachers will love the handmade touch.
Create an Ornament
Print or trace a smaller version, laminate it, and punch a hole for ribbon. It makes a sweet keepsake to hang on your tree year after year.
Make Gift Tags
Shrink your reindeer design to tag size, punch a hole, and tie it to gifts. It’s the cutest way to personalize presents!
Use It for Classroom Crafts
This preschool Christmas craft is perfect for classroom art time. Easy to prep, quick to make, and full of holiday cheer.
