How Cleaning Bingo Can Help Your Household
Incorporating cleaning games for kids turns otherwise boring tasks into something they actually look forward to.
Establishing a regular tidying routine early on will make it much easier for kids as they grow. Eventually, once they fly the coop, it will just be a fact of life that they can do for themselves.
Of course, it’s important that the tasks are age-appropriate. This free printable has chores for various age groups.
Some fantastic reasons you should make a game of cleaning and organising include:
Motivation: Bingo adds a playful element to chores, turning them into a game kids want to play! No more nagging – they’ll be eager to complete tasks and mark off squares for a chance to receive a reward.
Teamwork: Cleaning games for kids encourages collaboration! Kids can work together to tackle tasks, fostering a sense of teamwork and shared responsibility.
Building Responsibility: Completing chores on the Bingo card teaches valuable life skills and instills a sense of accomplishment.
Quick and Easy Cleanup: Family Bingo helps break down cleaning into smaller, more manageable tasks. It’s a great way to tackle big jobs in bite-sized chunks.
Stress-Free Zone: Let’s face it, cleaning can be stressful. Bingo injects some fun and laughter into the process, making it a more positive and enjoyable experience for everyone. And it takes a little pressure off us busy Mums.
Learning Through Play: Bingo reinforces important skills like matching, following directions, and completing tasks.
Sense of Accomplishment: Marking off squares and eventually achieving Bingo gives kids a sense of pride and accomplishment for their hard work.
Positive Reinforcement: Bingo provides a fun and rewarding way to encourage good cleaning habits.
Quality Time Together: This game becomes a shared activity, creating a chance to bond and have some laughs with your kiddos while getting things done! Dare I say, you may even create some wonderful memories (who would have thought cleaning could do that?!).

What’s Included In Your Cleaning Bingo Game
This free printable Bingo game includes 6 playing cards for the family, plus calling cards. The playing cards measure 5×7″ and print two bingo cards per page.
Do you have more than six members in your family? Don’t worry, I have suggestions below on how you can play the game with more than six people.
This game is perfect for printing on your home computer. If you don’t have a colour printer, that’s okay. You can still print them in black ink as the chores are also written on the playing and calling cards.
When printing your games, ensure your printer settings are set to ‘Actual Size’ or are scaled at 100%. You can print these to A4 and this setting should work.
If however, you find that the games are being cut off by the printer (you’ll notice it in the Print Preview window), use the ‘Fit to Page’ setting to scale it down. Note that this setting will reduce the size of the playing and calling cards ever so slightly (typically from 100% to 98-97%).
You can use whatever paper you have on hand. For the best results, I would recommend something such as 8.5×11 80lb cardstock paper or an A4 210-220 gsm card.
A thicker card like the above-mentioned will be much sturdier for play. You can however laminate your games for use week after week. If you’re planning to do this, choose a lighter paper that will feed smoothly through the laminator. Something similar to this 8.5×11 32lb paper or A4 100gsm paper.
For this printable Bingo, you may wish to use your own special tokens, stickers or toys to mark off your chores. You can simply cross them off with a marker if you like.
If you plan on laminating and reusing your game, you can cross each task off with a dry-erase marker.
The Chore Checklist
There are a total of 28 chores included in your printable cleaning bingo. Not all of these tasks will be suitable for every age group.
You know what your children are capable of so choose tasks they can complete. I always like to let them try each task, even if it’s only at the most basic level with a lot of help from me.
For example, my son would love to help wash the laundry by pressing the buttons and setting the cycle.
Other than picking up dirty washing or following my instructions for sorting, he wasn’t able to do much more than this at the time.
But he loved it and now that he’s older, he can complete more complex laundry tasks with minimal supervision.
Some of the chores you’ll find in your spring cleaning game include:
- Help cook dinner
- Set the table
- Wash Dishes
- Parent’s choice
- Clean closet
- Vacuum floors
- Empty garbage
- Wash car
- Water plants
- Tidy bedroom
- Load dishwasher
- Feed pets
- Clean playroom
- Help with dusting

How to Play Cleaning Bingo
The Basics of Bingo
In traditional Bingo, each person receives a different playing card. The goal of Bingo is to mark off a row, column, or diagonal of squares on the bingo card as you complete each task.
The first person to do this will call out “Bingo!” and win the game. It’s up to you but you can also consider a fun prize or reward for the winner.
You can play your cleaning Bingo in the same way. Celebrate the winner with a small prize, like choosing a movie night or picking a takeout dinner.
I have also adapted this with a few ideas that work well in creating an engaging cleaning game for kids:
Same Same Slow Game
Print the same playing card for everyone rather than using different versions. Instead of a caller, players work independently to complete tasks at their own pace. This is a good option for younger children.
You can choose to play the game in one sitting or use it across the week or even over the month if you like.
Timed Bingo
Set a timer for a specific amount of time (15-30 minutes) and see who can complete the most squares before the timer goes off.
Team Cleaning Bingo
Divide into teams and collaborate on completing tasks. The first team to get Bingo wins.
This is great for younger kids who may need a little more help with some of the chores. You can also choose to play this game across the week.
Blackout Bingo
Players aim to complete all the squares on their cards to win. This can be more challenging and might require multiple rounds.
You can also set reward levels based on a time frame over the course of a week. For example, for 5 tasks completed, they receive a reward or $3 pocket money; For 10 tasks completed, they receive a better reward or $5 pocket money etc.
Scavenger Bingo
Hide the calling cards around the house leading to different cleaning tasks. Players need to find the clues and complete the tasks to mark off squares on their Bingo cards. You can choose to play the same playing cards or different ones.
Reward Cleaning Bingo
Assign point values to each square based on difficulty. Players earn points for completing tasks and the highest score at the end wins.
Or as I mentioned above in Blackout Bingo, set reward levels based on a time frame over the course of a week.
For 5 tasks completed, they receive a reward or $3 pocket money; For 10 tasks completed, they receive a better reward or $5 pocket money etc.
