These printable bookmarks come in four designs – 2 horizontal and 2 vertical. I love this design, I wanted to make something that wasn't like so many of the boring old Father's Day printables out there. A fun superhero design with a cool comic-style vibe – perfect for our superhero Dads. If you like the design, I also sell fun games, more coloring as well as activities in this same theme.
Each Father's Day bookmark measures 2 x 7″ (50 x 178mm) on an 8.5×11″ PDF. You can also print it on A4 paper, just be sure to have your printer settings at “Actual Size” or scale to 100% for them to print out at the exact size.
As for paper selection, this will depend on what you intend on doing with your Father's Day bookmarks. If you're laminating your bookmarks, you might wish to choose a lighter-weight, everyday paper. However, if you do have something a little heavier it is always nice and easier to colour on. You could start with something like this premium 8.5×11″ 32lb paper or A4 paper at around 120gsm.
If you're simply coloring your bookmarks to then gift, a cardstock similar to this 8.5×11 80lb or this A4 210-220gsm would be a great choice. It's also a good idea to consider using thicker paper if texta markers are being used. You don't want them showing through beneath the page. The little ones, in particular, are known for “over-coloring”, putting holes in thin pages or even ripping the paper.

Head to the download button at the end of this post to grab your free coloring bookmarks for Dad. Once you have printed them to your paper/cardstock you can cut them out. Scissors will work just fine for this project however, if you have a paper trimmer or guillotine that will make this task a little quicker and easier.
After cutting them out, you can color them with your choice or pencils, crayons or markers. You can even choose to paint them if you like – using watercolor pencils would also be an easy way to do this.
You can leave your Father's Day bookmarks for Dad as they are. Or you could try one (or multiple) of the following options:
Glue your bookmarks to some colored construction paper. This one is easy and depending on the kid's age, they can do some or all of this part. Given each bookmark is 2 x 7″, I cut my construction paper to 2.5 x 7.5″. Scissors work well for this although if you have a paper trimmer, you'll get a smoother and quicker cut with one of these. I used a basic glue stick to attach the bookmarks to the colored paper.
We want Dad to be able to reuse his gift over and over! If you have access to a laminator you can protect your works of art for longer.
Punch a hole in the top to thread string, ribbon or a string of beads. If you're using something like yarn, you may find it easier to thread it through beads with a needle. I used natural timber beads but some bright-colored beads would look really good. I kept my beads at different lengths but you can always adjust the loop at the top if you'd prefer to even them up.
I hope you and your kiddos have good fun making these Father's Day bookmarks. They're a great keepsake gift for Dad. I would love to see your creations! You can tag me, @avisualmerriment on Instagram or Facebook. Or shoot me an email with some pics!
