If you’re struggling with tech burnout, a digital decluttering checklist might just be what you need!
When I first considered decluttering my digital space, it felt overwhelming. Would it be too hard? Would I fail?
Surprisingly, once I got started, it was much easier than I expected. The changes weren’t difficult, and I didn’t feel left out of the loop.
Implementing them significantly improved my life—I’m calmer, more present with my family, and better focused on important tasks.
My phone transformed from a constant source of distraction and stress into a helpful tool. I realize I do need my tech, but not all of it. By setting rules and committing to a digital detox, even I was surprised at the difference it made.
I will run through how to get the most out of your free printable checklist below. However, if you just want to grab the download now, scroll to the base of this post where you’ll find a big green button with the download link.

What is a digital detox?
A digital detox or decluttering is the process of tidying up your digital space, including your computer, phone, and other devices.
This process can improve productivity, organization, and overall well-being. It has also reduced my stress and anxiety (my kids aren’t complaining about having a more present mom either!).
When digital spaces are cluttered, it’s harder to find what you need, which can waste time and lead to frustration. Decluttering can also reduce feelings of overwhelm, helping to lower stress and anxiety.

How to do a tech cleanse
There are many ways to declutter your digital space, and plenty of tools available to help.
It’s okay to feel overwhelmed at first—just take it one step at a time and focus on what you can manage.
Below, I’ve provided an overview of steps you can take. For more detailed tips, check out my article Tame the Tech: Helpful Digital Decluttering Hacks.
Included in the checklist, you’ll find actionable steps such as:

- Device Maintenance: Perform regular tasks to keep devices running smoothly.
- Photo Cleanup: Organize and back up your photo collection.
- App Review: Evaluate and remove unused apps.
- Social Media Cleanse: Unfollow unnecessary accounts and leave groups that no longer serve you.
Tips for success:

About the checklist
This free printable digital decluttering checklist is designed to keep you on track during your digital detox.
While not every step will apply to everyone, I’m confident you’ll find useful suggestions to streamline your digital space.
As with most housekeeping and maintenance, you may need to refer back to this list at times (or part of it) to stay on track.
The checklist is a single-page PDF formatted to print on 8.5×11” or A4 paper and perfect for printing to home printers.
If you are printing on A4, set your printer to ‘fit to page’ to avoid cropping.
You can print it on regular, everyday copy paper. For best results, print on thicker paper for a sturdier feel, or laminate it for reuse.

Technology is wonderful to have, however like most things, too much is not good for you. What one person considers a reasonable amount, you might find too much. Just work on what makes you feel good.
I hope this checklist can get you started on your way to more productivity, less stress, and overall, more happiness.
