Looking for a simple, thoughtful, and unique end of year student gift idea for your child’s classmates this holiday season?
I made these cute glow stick tags for my son’s Christmas class gifts. They can hold glow sticks or pens and pencils.
But you don’t need to use them for Christmas! They make a perfect end of year gift whether your school year finishes at Christmas or during the middle of the calendar year.
You can make your own or I can save you some time as these glow stick tags are available in my shop as an editable download.
I’ll go into everything below. These cute gifts are an affordable, no-fuss option that is exactly what busy moms need to make the holiday season a little easier!

End of Year Student Gift Glow Stick Holders
Fun & Affordable – Perfect for the Masses!
Let’s face it, gift-giving for an entire class can get pricey. Each year I try to come up with new ideas for my boys to gift their friends.
Often I stick to pens, novelty pencils and now glow sticks. The kids love them and always ask for them year after year.
To mix things up, I simply create new styles of tags. Like these cool skateboarding Santa pen gifts or these DIY crayon shapes.
Glow sticks are budget-friendly and always a hit with boys and kids young and old. This makes these gifts something your child’s classmates are sure to love.
Plus, glow sticks are lightweight and easy to transport—no need to lug around heavy bags of Christmas gifts for classmates!

Make it Your Own
As I mentioned above, you can edit the text on these tags to say anything you would like. You can remove the Christmas wishes, add more text, and style it differently.
I love a little cheeky pun so I thought the phrase “Thank You for Making This Year So Bright!” was very appropriate for bright colorful glow sticks. Here’s the link again for the glow stick wraps, if you want a closer look.
This cute quote also works well with brightly colored pens and pencils. Anything to do with color or coloring!
I love how printable files are affordable, easy, and available instantly (great at the last minute!).
Editing online is easy without any software required. Once you’ve personalized the file to your liking simply download, print, and cut!
If the editing process is a little daunting, I am always here to guide you! As I sell this on Etsy, you can shoot me a message via their messaging service with any queries (it’s the quickest way to reach me about a product!).
Plus you can see a demo version of the tag so you can play around with the editing before deciding to purchase.
I do recommend editing on a computer rather than a tablet or mobile device. Particularly if you want to create multiple tags that say different things.
Tablet/mobile devices work great if you want the file fairly similar to how I designed it with only simple text changes.

Easy Assembly
If you’re planning to use scissors or a paper trimmer, you will need to download the file as a PDF. You can then print them to your home computer or online print store or have them printed at a physical store.
I prefer PDF files when making large quantities as you can print multiple tags to one page (if you’re on a computer, you can even edit each tag to say something different if you like!).
For these glow stick tags, I used my paper trimmer and scissors to cut them. However, I have since begun using my Cricut for these types of projects.
If you want to use your Cricut, prior to downloading, you may wish to remove the ‘cut line’ guides that I’ve included in the file. If you don’t, these will print out.
You can then download this file as a png file. I upload the file to Cricut Design Space and then create two basic cut lines for the glow sticks to go through. Then you can use the Print Then Cut feature.
I printed my glow stick holders on a smooth card that still had some flexibility to fix the sticks through. I believe it was about 200gsm.

Easy Christmas Class Gifts
With school holiday parties and gift exchanges happening around Christmas, these Christmas gifts for classmates are a fun, “wow-factor” gift without the hassle.
Kids will love the glow sticks, and you’ll love the time you save. The holiday season is full enough with errands, so this quick, easy solution takes the pressure off while keeping things festive and bright.
You can pick up these editable printable glow stick tags in my Etsy store.
