Free Printable Cleaning Schedule Overview
What is Zone Cleaning?
If cleaning seems to be constantly piling up, zone cleaning may just be your saving grace.
Rather than tackling your entire house at once, zone cleaning breaks your home down into manageable sections. You focus on cleaning one zone each day, spending a set amount of time (like 15 minutes) to blitz through tasks.
This way, you avoid feeling overwhelmed by a massive cleaning project.
Zone cleaning is perfect for busy people who struggle to find large chunks of time for cleaning. It also helps combat the chores that pile up because you never have a dedicated time to tackle them.
This method is also especially helpful for parents who find they are constantly cleaning up after their kids. As much as we want to teach our children responsibility for their belongings and spaces, it takes time for them to get there.
Parents will always end up picking up the slack (even for some of the older ones who should know better!).
By focusing on one zone, like a child’s room, you can give it a thorough clean without feeling defeated the next day. It’s also easier to encourage younger children to help keep it clean. They don’t like being overwhelmed with chaos either.
Zone cleaning allows you to chip away at the cleaning monster bit by bit, leaving you with a fresh and tidy home over time.
However, nothing is not set in stone. There are some alternatives you can use to make this system work for you.
I wrote an article that dives deeply into this strategy. It goes into more detail on creating a zone-cleaning schedule that works for you and your family.

Zone Cleaning Schedule Checklist Inclusions
This free printable cleaning schedule comes with a zone cleaning schedule checklist and a schedule of tasks to include within your cleaning. I’ll go into more detail on each of those further below.
The printable is US Letter (8.5×11″) however you can still print to A4 without issue. You might like to laminate your printables so that you can reuse them. Mark off the checklist with a dry-erase marker to reuse it next time.
The Zone Cleaning Schedule
The printable zone cleaning schedule is a list of suggested tasks you can complete. It is sectioned by room zones.
Please keep in mind that these tasks are only suggestions. You may find that you need different options for your home and lifestyle.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, I have more ideas on this in my blog post How to Create Cleaning Zones in Your Home.
Some of the tasks such as decluttering and cleaning surfaces are repeated through the zones. As they are common tasks you would do in most rooms.
Each zone lists potential tasks specific to each zone. For example, in your bedroom zone, you may wish to wash bedding, rotate the mattress or declutter your closet.
You by no means need to do each of these things every week! Work on your schedule. Pick what you would like (add a few extras if you need to) and then head to the next part of your download…

The Zone Cleaning Checklist
Your free printable cleaning schedule also comes with a zone cleaning checklist. This is a page sectioned into 5 different zones.
I haven’t labelled them other than Zone 1, 2 etc. You can determine the zones you want in your home. Each box has lines for you to write your tasks in. Then a check box for you to mark off once the cleaning task is completed.
You can use this checklist and change it each time. Or you can laminate it to reuse. Perhaps you would like to create one for a weekly clean and one for a monthly clean?
Now, I know I only have 5 zones on the checklist yet I’ve included 8 zones with tasks on the schedule. I’ve done this to give you options.
People work differently. Some will want 3 zones, others will want more. You can pick tasks from multiple zones to combine them into fewer overall zones. Or you can print 2 of the checklist for a total of 10 zones.
Keep in mind that creating more cleaning zones may be too overwhelming for some people. Select what works for you.
