Involve the kids in your celebrations with these printable New Year’s activities and coloring pages!
Kids will love to be part of reflecting on the year that was and ringing in the new year.
These pages are perfect for a New Year’s Eve party, as a fun activity in the lead-up, or even a classroom activity.
Coloring itself is such a fun activity but it’s also great for children’s development. Studies have shown that coloring improves hand-eye coordination, enhances creativity, and reduces stress and anxiety.
It also helps kids to develop fine motor skills and learn about color and spatial awareness. That sounds like winning in my book – something they enjoy that’s also educational.
If you’re looking for some party games for your New Year’s celebrations, you’re sure to find something in my article 46 party games and activities for toddlers. Many of the games are great for older kids too!
I will run through how to get the most out of your new year printables below. However, if you just want to grab the download now, scroll to the base of this post where you’ll find a big green button with the download link.

I’ve touched on a few ways you could use these new year printables above. Here are a few more so you get the most of them!
- Festive Table Settings: Use the activity pages as placemats to create a themed dining experience for kids during your New Year’s Eve dinner.
- Countdown Entertainment: Keep kids entertained during the hours leading up to the New Year by providing them with activity pages and coloring tools.
- Quiet Time Fun: Similar to the above point, sometimes you may need to bring the energy down a little to let you get on with things! Encourage the kids to wind down with these activities while you prepare for the countdown or festivities.
- Kid’s Activity Table: Set up a dedicated kids’ table with printable placemats and coloring supplies to keep them engaged and socializing.
- Party Favors: Roll up the printables with a ribbon and include them in kids’ party bags as a fun take-home activity.

Features of the New Year’s Eve printables
These activities include 2 pages of New Year’s themed fun in a cute Kawaii-style cartoon design.
You’ll find the following activities across this printable:
- Lots of coloring
- Word Scramble
- Maze
- Word Search
- Several Tic Tac Toe grids
- “Things I want to try in the new year” prompt
- “Things I love about last year” prompt
- “My best memory last year” prompt & drawing box

The kids will have a blast reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the new year with the prompts included. It’s a fun way to bring in some thought-provoking education.
With the fun coloring elements to these pages, they would be suitable for younger children and toddlers. The littler ones may not be able to complete all of the puzzles though.
Both my 8 and 11-year-olds loved completing these printable New Year’s activities too.
The design includes characters dancing and celebrating. You’ll also find other party elements such as music notes, banners, stars, fireworks, party poppers, masks, party hats, and more.
The size of the New Year activity page is 8.5×11″. You can also print it on A4 paper, just be sure to have your printer settings at “Fit to Page” so that none of the design is cut off when printing.
For most people, printing on everyday copy paper will probably be the most practical paper to use. This will do just fine.
However, if you do have something a little heavier it is always nice and easier to color on. You could start with something like this premium 8.5×11″ 32lb paper or A4 paper at around 120gsm.
It’s also a good idea to consider using thicker paper if markers are being used and you don’t want them showing through beneath the page. Toddlers in particular are terrible at “over-coloring” and putting holes in thin pages!
Just keep in mind that the thicker you go, the more work the printer needs to do! By that, I simply mean to make sure that your printer is capable of running through heavier paper/card.
